Introduction: Google Calendar is a free web-based productivity tool that helps you keep track of events on a calendar. You can create, update, share and remove events from your online calendar at anytime on any computer. This tool making it easy to manage your time by organizing multiple calendars in one central location. Google Calendar can be used in the classroom to support student learning by allowing you to embed or link a student assignment calendar to a Web page, (The Source). This access will help your students keep up with assignment details and due dates. Sign up for a Google account by going to google.com.

Things to Consider:
- Google Account is free and required
- Two ways to access Google Calendar
1. If you have Gmail you already have access to Google Calendar.
Sign in to Google Calendar using your Gmail username and password. Gmail account is not required
2. If you don’t have Gmail, create your Google account
You can use your Seattle School District email and create a new password - One Google Calendar can have multiple colored calendars with color cordinating events.
- Copy one event to multiple calendars
- Move around events by dragging and dropping from one day to the next
- ”Quick Add” lets you quickly add an event by typing “What” and “When”. For example – Vocabulary Activity at 11:00 AM
- Two ways display calendar in the Source

2. Link - When you update your Google calendar it automatically updates to the embeded or linked calendar on your Web Page
