Office 2007
Feb 2nd, 2009 by hwwright
You have had Word, Excel and PowerPoint on various computers for a long time and they have served you well. You know where all of the tools that you normally use are, and you know what the application will look like when you open it. Well, your old Office friend had a face lift! Things are not exactly where you think they might be. But, even though the interface doesn’t look familiar, it is quite easy to navigate and logical once you start using it.
Below is a picture of what the new ribbon in the applications looks like. The Office 2007 Quick Guide explains the new features in more detail. You can also visit the Office 2007 Ribbon Overview on the Microsoft site.
Activities:
Begin one of the following Office activities during your self-directed time to have a better familiarity with the new design and options.
Outlook-Explore the ribbon, create a signature and an appointment on the calendar.
Word 2007-Explore the ribbon while formatting text and creating a two-column document.
Publisher 2007 (doesn’t have new ribbon)- Create a tri-fold brochure by inserting pictures and text.
