Cleaning the Air Filter

Posted by Gary on April 23, 2007 in Tools and Applications

The new classroom projectors have a 100 hour “Clean Filter” warning. If the air filter is not cleaned periodically, the projector may overheat and possibly malfunction. Watch the linked movie to learn the procedure for cleaning the projector filter and resetting the filter timer. Note: if your projector is ceiling mounted, do not attempt to clean it yourself. Instead, call Work Control.

In the movie example, a compressed air-can is used to clean the filter, you can also clean the filter by blowing the dust off or with a vacuum.

Several new pages have been added to this site and can be found under “More Features” in the right hand menu;

  • Presentation Station Documents – this page is the new home for our official documentation to support the presentation station (document camera and lcd projector). Here you will find technical documentation about how to setup and connect the equipment.
  • Presentation Station Frequently Asked Questions – information in response to common questions, such as how to clean the air filter on the presentation station. This page is divided into two sections; one for the ceiling-mounted projectors, which are typically found in secondary classrooms, and a separate section for projectors set up on a cart or table, which is typical for our elementary classrooms. Since the directions are different for each setup, please make sure you are browsing in the correct section.
  • Monthly Archives – this listing will enable you to browse our past articles archived by month.
